Description
Uppingham School is seeking an exceptional and visionary teacher to join our team as the Head of Academic Drama and take responsibility for shaping the strategic direction of Drama teaching within the school.
In this key leadership role, you will provide dynamic leadership and a visionary outlook for our Drama department. Your primary responsibilities include guiding, mentoring, and supporting departmental teachers, and effectively managing the department’s resources. You will also oversee the quality assurance of educational provision, conducting lesson observations and promote Drama to pupils, parents, visitors, and feeder prep schools.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be an outstanding professional with a proven track record of excellence alongside unimpeachable subject knowledge. Your exemplary classroom management skills, ability to establish strong rapport with pupils, and visionary leadership qualities will be key. An appreciation for the wider life of a seven-day-week boarding school and a willingness to engage in boarding and extracurricular activities will be essential.
