Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Art teacher and visionary leader to play a key role in the strategic leadership, development and realisation of Art teaching at Uppingham.

Uppingham enjoys enviable facilities for Art and Design and is a stimulating place in which to learn, teach and work. As Head of Art, you will ensure that Uppingham’s Art teaching is creative and inspirational, keeping staff abreast of educational developments so that the most innovative courses are chosen, planned and delivered.

Leading by example, you will monitor teaching and learning, observe lessons, evaluate the department’s performance and actively address the underperformance of pupils. You will also be responsible for guiding, supporting and appraising the teachers in the department as well as overseeing the effective deployment of the department’s financial, material and human resources.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher and an experienced professional who will not settle for less than excellence. As well as the ability to teach Fine Art across the age range, the ability to teach Photography at A level, or interest in developing that ability, would be welcomed.
