Description

Uppingham School is looking for a part-time Chemistry Technician to provide technical support to our Chemistry Department.

You will primarily be based within the Chemistry Department, but will also be required to provide technical support to all three of our separate Science Departments when necessary. You will play an integral role within our Science Department Technical team, working closely with teachers and the rest of the team to ensure that experimental work forms a key and central part of our pupils’ science education.

You will possess previous experience of working in a science laboratory and will demonstrate knowledge of working in a science-based environment. You will exhibit a thorough understanding of safe-working practices, pairing this with excellent organisational and administrative skills. You will possess strong communication and team-working skills, along with the ability to respond to technical needs, ensuring that all teaching requirements are met. Strong IT skills, including a familiarity with Microsoft Office is also essential.
