Description

Required: September 2023

If you offer a serious coaching pedigree, this position at one of the UK’s leading schools, which also offers some of the best sporting facilities in the country, might just be the right next step in your career.

Uppingham School has an ambitious strategy for sport, and the athletic development of our pupils has a key role to play in this being realised. We have many pupils participating in sport at a county, regional, academy and national level, with specialist support, advice and guidance being pivotal to ensure they reach their athletic potential. As Assistant Athletic Development Coach, you will assist the Director of Sport and Head of Athletic Development in offering this support to our aspirational athletes.

You will work to increase, stretch, and challenge the provision of our current programme, supporting the athletic development of all pupils, teaching the value of strength and conditioning in a way that is both inspiring and engaging.

The role will also involve supporting the Head of Physical Education in the delivery and implementation of the physical education curriculum, specifically through the ‘Athletic Development’, and ‘Health-related Fitness’ modules. Alongside your coaching responsibilities, you will be expected to play a full part in this seven-day-a-week boarding school. This will include involvement in the school’s exceptionally varied co-curricular programme, as well as being attached as a tutor to one of the school’s 15 boarding houses.

If you share our vision to transform lives and change the world through providing sporting experiences that build skills for a lifetime of achievement, enjoyment and wellbeing, we would be delighted to hear from you.

This position is for the academic year 2023-24.

Closing date: Monday 15 May 2023, 9.00am.

Interview date: Thursday 25 May 2023.
