Description

Uppingham School has an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Performance Coach to support our aspirational Hockey players and strengthen the quality and delivery of the Hockey programme on a day-to-day basis.

Uppingham is one of the top hockey playing schools in the country, and the majority of our pupils play the sport. We field 15 girls’ teams and 16 boys’ teams, and have multiple players involved in the England Player Pathway System.

The two-term sport continues to grow, and this role reflects the aspirations of the school to support our already strong hockey programme. You will be primarily responsible for leading and developing the 1st XI Hockey team, creating and delivering purposeful one-on-one and small group sessions and mentoring the hockey scholars.

You will also be expected to be involved in the wider Hockey programme and will assist with internal coach development, contribute to the development of the School’s Champions programme, and continue to build on the positive relationships with other schools and clubs.

If you possess experience of playing and/or coaching at a high level, can create and implement high-performance development programmes and are passionate about developing young athletes, we would love to hear from you.

In return, Uppingham offers a community that values people. We are warm, compassionate and mutually supportive. This is reflected in our working environment and the benefits we are able to offer:

  • 50% contribution to premiums for School’s private health scheme
  • Death in service cover with a lump sum of twice annual salary
  • Free membership of dual-use Sports Centre (£25 annual admin fee)
  • Free staff lunches in term-time
  • School fee day place discount for children of staff
  • Retail and restaurant discounts, via Westfield platform
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Free annual influenza jabs
  • Westfield health care package
  • Recognised as a ‘Disability Confident’ employer
  • Recognised as a ‘Mindful’ employer
