Description
Uppingham School is seeking to appoint a talented Alexander Technique Teacher to start in September 2023. Responsibilities will be to teach individual lessons of the Alexander Technique to students, across the 13-18 age range, as part of a team of two AT teachers.
While Alexander Technique lessons can be taken by any musicians at the School and is offered to all music scholars, it is part of the String faculty which prides itself in the level of diversity it offers to the pupils. You will also work alongside the school’s other Alexander Technique teacher to organise lessons and communicate with other departments within the school.
At Uppingham School, music has always been at the heart of our heritage, with a proud musical tradition dating back to 1865. Our Music Department boasts a highly qualified team and first-class facilities, including 65 practice rooms, 3 organs, recording studios, and state-of-the-art percussion rooms. Since 2019, the Head of Strings has been Michal Cwizewicz, who divides his time between Uppingham and the Royal College of Music where he is a professor of violin.
With full membership of, and a recognised qualification from, the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT), the successful candidate will be a talented musician, also possessing an outstanding track record as a teacher.
