Description

Uppingham School is looking for a dynamic history teacher (or well-qualified graduate) to join our thriving History Department.

You will deliver inspiring and stimulating history lessons across the school, encouraging your students to engage with complex ideas and develop their knowledge of the past. In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will play a full part in the life of this seven-day week boarding school, by taking on additional co-curricular duties.

If applying as a graduate trainee, you will have the opportunity to complete the University of Buckingham PGCE (leading to Qualified Teacher Status), whilst teaching a reduced timetable. Guided by an in-school mentor, trainees have full responsibility for their own classes during the year. They also undertake teaching placements in a different school setting.

This role would be ideal for either an experienced teacher seeking to broaden their skills, an ECT looking for their first teaching role or a recent graduate who is aiming to train and qualify as a teacher whilst working. You will be a strong, dynamic character with excellent subject knowledge, a good degree and strong classroom management skills.
