Description

Uppingham School is seeking a skilled and motivated Plumber to join our Estates Team and play a key role in maintaining our extensive 125-acre estate. Uppingham’s estate is a unique and historic environment that combines playing fields, gardens and more than 80 buildings, 23 of which are listed, with a total external footprint of 775,000 square feet. With a major infrastructure strategy underway and long-term funding secured, this is an exciting moment to join us as we invest in the future expansion of the School.

This is a proactive, hands-on role, keeping our buildings and facilities operating smoothly, safely, and to a high standard. Your work will cover a broad range of tasks including reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, and small project works. You will install and repair pipework, maintain pumps, cylinders and water systems, and use your initiative to diagnose and fix issues effectively and safely.

We are looking for a self-motivated professional with a recognised plumbing qualification, ideally City & Guilds, proven hands-on experience, and a valid UK driving licence. Strong knowledge of plumbing, drainage and heating systems is essential, as well as experience of working with different pipework materials. Good IT skills, a strong command of the English language, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team is essential to success in this role.
