Description

Uppingham School is looking for a reliable and dedicated Driver to transport pupils to medical and dental appointments during term time. This is a flexible and rewarding opportunity to help young people access essential medical care, ideal for those seeking meaningful work that fits around other commitments.

Using your own vehicle, you will ensure each journey is safe, comfortable and reassuring, accompanying pupils into their appointments and making sure they are checked in before returning them to school.

Working closely with our Matrons and Pastoral Team, you will play an important role in coordinating schedules and responding to individual pupil needs. This role operates on an on-call basis between 07:00 and 19:00, with no requirement to be based onsite, offering a level of flexibility that suits parents, carers or those with flexible routines.

A calm, friendly and approachable manner is essential, along with strong organisation and communication skills. A full UK driving licence and car business insurance are required and while previous experience in a similar setting is advantageous, it is not essential. Must also meet the School’s Insurance criteria.

Please note we reserve the right to close this vacancy early once we have received an adequate number of applications therefore, we encourage early submissions.

Uppingham School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

All positions at the School are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, therefore ALL convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings (including those which would normally be considered ‘spent’ under the Act) MUST be declared, subject to the DBS filtering rules. All information given will be treated as confidential and each case will be taken on its merits. Failure to disclose this information may result in the withdrawal of an offer of employment or immediate termination of employment.

Uppingham School is an equal opportunities employer.
