Description

Uppingham School is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Team Leader to join our friendly and supportive Domestic Services team.

In this key role, you will lead a team of Domestic Cleaners to create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within academic buildings across the school.

Working alongside the Assistant Cleaning Manager, you will be responsible for planning cleaning schedules, carrying out regular quality checks, managing cleaning supplies, training and mentoring new staff and motivating your team to deliver outstanding results.

We are seeking someone with a good understanding of cleaning procedures and the confidence to work independently while leading by example. You will bring proven experience in both cleaning and supervision, along with exceptional organisational skills and a meticulous eye for detail. Equally important are strong communication skills and a warm, professional, and proactive approach when engaging with pupils, parents, and colleagues alike.

Working 6 days per week, we have various shift patterns between 32.5 to 36 hours per week:

  • 5.25 hours per day, from 8:30am to 2:25pm. This role is for 32 weeks per year, plus an additional 105 annual clean down hours.
  • 5.25 hours per day, from 8:30am to 2:25pm, 52 weeks per year.
  • 6 hours per day, from 6:00am to 12:30pm, 52 weeks per year.
