Description

Join the Estates Team at Uppingham School and put your practical skills to use in a role where no two days are the same.

Our Estates Team plays a crucial role in maintaining our 125-acre estate, ensuring it operates smoothly, safely and to a high standard. As an Estates Technician, you will take on a variety of hands-on tasks that keep the site running day to day, from minor repairs and planned maintenance to setting up for events, moving furniture, managing waste and supporting deliveries. Working both indoors and out, you will cover all areas of the School and respond to maintenance needs as they arise.

This is a full-time role based on a 39-hour week, worked on a rota that includes some weekend shifts.

About you

You will be practical, reliable and take pride in a job well done. Experience in maintenance, trades or another physical, hands-on role is helpful. You should be confident working independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to respond to changing priorities during the day.

We welcome applicants from all sectors. Experience in a school setting is not essential.

Uppingham School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

All positions at the School are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, therefore ALL convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings (including those which would normally be considered ‘spent’ under the Act) MUST be declared, subject to the DBS filtering rules. All information given will be treated as confidential and each case will be taken on its merits. Failure to disclose this information may result in the withdrawal of an offer of employment or immediate termination of employment.

Uppingham School is an equal opportunities employer.
