Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator with excellent customer service skills to join our ambitious Admissions Department at Uppingham School.

Each year, Uppingham welcomes around 230 new pupils, both from the UK and overseas, as boarders and day pupils. At the heart of this successful recruitment is a professional, approachable and welcoming team, committed to providing an excellent experience for families. As a Family Engagement Officer, you will guide and support these families from the moment they accept a place through to their child’s arrival at the School.

You will act as the first point of contact for families once an offer is accepted, managing a timeline of key touchpoints from acceptance to arrival. You will maintain regular and positive communication, ensuring they are fully informed and engaged at every stage.

In addition to this, you will manage administrative processes, support parents with the completion of forms and documentation, and provide clear guidance on the important events and milestones of the pre-arrival period. By proactively liaising with parents, pupils, and colleagues, you will help create a smooth, well-coordinated onboarding experience that builds confidence, strengthens engagement, and fosters a positive relationship with the School.

About you

We are seeking an experienced administrator with a higher-level qualification, or equivalent experience, in customer service and onboarding. You will be able to communicate effectively and diplomatically, while confidently engaging with a wide range of people to deliver an excellent customer service. You will also be proficient in using a variety of software, CRM platforms, and databases, including Microsoft Office, and will be capable of resolving straightforward to moderate parent IT issues, such as login difficulties or missing information due to data entry errors.

This is a fixed term role for ther duration of 2 years.

Uppingham School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

All positions at the School are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, therefore ALL convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings (including those which would normally be considered ‘spent’ under the Act) MUST be declared, subject to the DBS filtering rules. All information given will be treated as confidential and each case will be taken on its merits. Failure to disclose this information may result in the withdrawal of an offer of employment or immediate termination of employment.

Uppingham School is an equal opportunities employer.
