Salary: up to £30,000 per annum dependant on experience

Description

Uppingham School is seeking a committed, experienced and passionate gardener to assist in the maintenance, development and improvement of the school’s extensive gardens.

You will join a team that strives to achieve National Trust standards and RHS quality and will play a key role by producing high-quality work that creates excellent visual impact for pupils, parents, visitors, staff and the Uppingham community to enjoy. You will also support designing, growing and planting of both the town and the school’s floral displays for the Uppingham and Britain in Bloom competitions. 

About you

You will need experience in all horticultural operations and will be able to demonstrate good plant knowledge, basic horticultural techniques using hand tools and horticultural machinery.

A full clean driving licence is essential as this position involves driving vehicles around the school’s estate. 

It will be very advantageous if you have some nursery experience and a keen interest in this area, as this will be a main area of responsibility if you are successful.
