This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Biology teacher and visionary leader to join one of the leading schools in the UK with the highest ambitions for science education.

As Head of Biology, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership, development and realisation of Biology teaching at Uppingham. You will be responsible for guiding, supporting and appraising the teachers in the department and for the effective deployment of the department’s financial, material and human resources.

You will ensure that Uppingham’s Biology teaching is creative and inspirational, keeping staff abreast of educational developments so that the most innovative courses are chosen, planned and delivered.

You will also play an active role in the Science Faculty leadership team, regularly meeting with the Head of Chemistry, the Head of Physics and the Head of Science to ensure collaborative and impactful cross-faculty initiatives are supported and successful.
