Description
Maidwell Hall, a co-educational boarding and day school situated in a beautiful part of Northamptonshire seeks a Transport Manager to support the set up and management of the School’s new minibus provision.
As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for setting up and running a reliable home-to-school and school-to-home bus service for pupils aged 4 to 13, including managing minibus leases, timetabling, bus passes, pupil invoicing and liaising with parents and staff. You will recruit and manage drivers, procure transport management software, and ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety, legal, and driving hour requirements. You will also liaise with the Finance Department over costs and pricing and expand the service as the school grows.
Please note the role will initially need to be full-time to set up the service. Once established the role will settle into a ‘term-time-plus’ routine (returning to work each term one week prior to term starting). The working day is currently expected to be 7am to 5pm.
The role requires prior experience of running passenger transport operations, knowledge of applicable transport regulations, strong IT and organisational skills, and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. A clean driving licence is essential, and a D1/PSV licence and Certificate of Professional Competence will be advantageous.
