Description

Opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to play a key role providing administrative and customer service support for a variety of events and activities during the summer holidays at Uppingham School.

This is a customer facing role, and you will be the face of the business to external clients for the school’s residential lettings programme and various events. The role is varied, and your responsibilities will include supporting the operational management of commercial activities taking place during the summer season, such as administrative duties and liaising with clients regularly and ensuring their stay is enjoyable.

You will ensure facilities are prepared and ready for the arrival of clients and will also ensure Fire Officers are appointed for facilities being used and ensure clients are fully aware of all procedures.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will liaise with other Uppingham School departments such as Catering, Porterage, Maintenance, Accounts, etc. as necessary for the efficient operation of the programme of courses, functions, and events, and regarding the use of facilities.

To be considered for this role you will need customer service or events experience, with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and associated programmes, and will be a competent administrator.

The ability to prioritise multiple tasks on an ongoing basis will be crucial, and experience of working in a busy and sometimes pressurised environment is equally important.

This is a fixed term role for a duration of the summer holidays, starting from the end of June.

Uppingham School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

All positions at the School are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, therefore ALL convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings (including those which would normally be considered ‘spent’ under the Act) MUST be declared, subject to the DBS filtering rules. All information given will be treated as confidential and each case will be taken on its merits. Failure to disclose this information may result in the withdrawal of an offer of employment or immediate termination of employment.

Uppingham School is an equal opportunities employer.
