Description

Uppingham School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced LAMDA Tutor to join our dynamic Theatre Department. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire pupils and play a key role in developing a thriving programme at the heart of school life.

The Theatre Department at Uppingham is renowned for its creativity, energy and high-quality facilities, offering pupils a wide range of opportunities both on stage and behind the scenes. As a LAMDA Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons to individuals and pairs of pupils, while also playing an active role in promoting and developing the profile of LAMDA across the school community. Alongside your teaching, you will support the smooth running of the programme by managing administrative tasks and contributing to its continued growth.

LAMDA lessons take place on weekdays between 9am and 6pm and, where required, on Saturday mornings. Lessons are delivered in 30-minute sessions, with Sixth Form pupils often taught during study periods and Drama Scholars permitted to miss academic lessons on a rolling timetable. This is expected to be a two-day-a-week role, working Wednesdays and one other day, likely a Tuesday or a Thursday.

We are looking for a tutor with significant experience in drama and theatre, who can combine a genuine passion for the subject with enthusiasm, flexibility and excellent communication skills. A PGCE and/or BA in theatre or theatre in education is essential, together with the ability to manage administrative tasks confidently and make effective use of Microsoft Office.
