Description
This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled and creative technician to join the Art Department at Uppingham School.
As an Art / Textiles Technician, you will provide exceptional administrative and technical support within the department, ensuring that teachers receive the support they need to deliver a first-class education to our students. To achieve this, you will undertake a range of responsibilities including:
• Maintaining machines and equipment
• Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment at all times
• Preparing teaching materials required for projects, exam work and practical lessons
• Working with small groups of pupils on curriculum and non-curriculum projects
We are looking for a talented creative, with experience of working in a technical creative role and strong knowledge of art / textiles. A good degree of flexibility is important in this role, along with a patient and tolerant approach that will help our students to feel at ease. You will also demonstrate a willingness to undertake training in new areas and learn new skills, techniques and equipment.

The Leonardo Centre offers access to exceptional teaching spaces, studios of a professional standard, and fully equipped design technology workshops. Our resources encompass a wide range of capabilities, including 3D printing, CAD design (with laser cutting technology), CAD embroidery, studios dedicated to ceramics and sculpture, as well as facilities for photography, sound engineering, and video production. Moreover, there are two fully equipped fashion and textile studios, along with specialised workshops catering to resistant materials.
