Description

Required from September 2024

Uppingham School seeks to appoint an emotionally and spiritually mature graduate chaplaincy assistant for the academic year 2024 – 25.

The role is likely to appeal to graduates who are looking to develop the broad range of pastoral and teaching skills needed for Christian ministry. While previous theological training and / or experience of church work may be useful, this is not as important as an engaging and caring personality and deep commitment to helping young people to discover their potential.

Uppingham’s foundation is Anglican and the worshipping life of the Chapel follows this tradition. The Graduate Chaplaincy Assistant should be sympathetic to the ethos and traditions of the Church of England, but applicants from any Christian denomination will be welcomed.

Applications are welcome from candidates who also wish to play a role in other areas of School life, for example contributing to the varied sports programme or the rich musical life of the School. The role could also be combined with a teacher training qualification for the right candidate.

Accommodation is available.

Closing date: Monday 17 June 2024.

Interviews: will be held before term ends on 28 June 2024.
