Description
We are seeking a self-motivated and reliable qualified Gas Engineer to undertake predominantly reactive maintenance across the Uppingham School estate.
You will also provide support with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and small project works.
Your responsibilities will include repairs to heating systems in a range of buildings, servicing and maintenance of boiler systems, PRVs, and expansion vessels, as well as working on heating replacement projects with support from the wider Estates team, including installation of new pipework, services and fittings.
You will need to use the school’s computer aided facilities management (CAFM) system, through use of a tablet, to receive, respond to, and complete PPM jobs with correct notes and recommendations.
To be considered for this key role, you will need:
- Current ACS qualifications or equivalent: CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 & HTR1 (essential)
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in a relevant mechanical discipline or equivalent experience (essential)
- Gas Safe Registered (essential)
- Valid UK Driving Licence (essential). A vehicle will be provided for commuting to and from home, and for completing tasks around the school
You will also need practical knowledge and experience of working with heating and ventilation systems, water hygiene, and plumbing, as well as an understanding of gas legislation.
