Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Drama graduate with a passion for theatre and the performing arts to begin a rewarding career in teaching at a leading independent school.

As a graduate teacher trainee, you will complete a PGCE course with the University of Buckingham, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). During your training year, you will teach a reduced timetable whilst benefiting from comprehensive mentoring and support from our experienced staff. You will also have the opportunity to undertake teaching placements within a different school setting.

You will join a well-resourced Drama department, with excellent facilities including a fully equipped 300-seat theatre. There is also the highly flexible Williams Studio in which small-scale Drama clubs, professional productions, music, and practical teaching take place.

All members of our teaching staff at Uppingham contribute fully to the life of our seven-day week boarding community, including involvement in co-curricular activities, events and pastoral responsibilities as a House Tutor.

We are looking for a well-qualified Drama graduate with a strong academic background and excellent subject knowledge. You will be a dynamic character with good communication and interpersonal skills, who is capable of building an appropriate rapport with pupils.
